Founder's story

It started with a bad SIM card.

A hidden speed limit disrupted a family trip — and changed what I wanted travel connectivity to be.

I once bought a 50GB travel SIM, only to find out after arriving overseas that the seller had quietly limited my speed to 5Mbps.

My family was sharing my hotspot. The slow connection affected our plans. Even checking train-ticket details and opening a QR code became a struggle. I never used more than 10GB of the data I'd bought.

The problem wasn't the unused data. It was letting my family down when we needed to get online.

That experience stayed with me. When I started Traverrsim — the business behind today's Lumoo eSIM — my first step was finding suppliers I could trust.

I wanted one rule to be clear from day one: No hidden speed limits. No surprises after landing.

Later, a customer told us the only place they could get a signal at their accommodation was the bathroom. We offered a refund or compensation. It was another reminder that travelers rely on their connection far from home.

Then I noticed something else

Travelers have enough decisions to make.

  • “Is 10GB enough?”
  • “Which plan should I choose?”
  • “Will it work for my trip?”

That's why we're bringing AI into Lumoo: to help travelers compare less, choose with confidence and understand their data usage without needing to be tech experts.

Travel connectivity should be transparent, simple and one less thing to worry about.

That's the idea behind Lumoo eSIM.

Our promise is transparency, not a guarantee that every network runs at an unlimited speed. Applicable speed limits and fair usage terms should always be disclosed before purchase; actual coverage and performance depend on the destination and local network.

Behind Lumoo

Meet Sean, Founder & CEO of Lumoo.

Sean is the Malaysian Founder & CEO of Lumoo, a technology brand headquartered in Hong Kong and operated primarily from Malaysia. llumoo limited is the registered company behind the brand.

His journey began with travel SIM cards in 2020, followed by a move into eSIMs in 2023. In 2026, Traverrsim became Lumoo eSIM as Lumoo expanded into a broader technology brand.

He started by searching for reliable suppliers and set a clear principle for the company: no hidden speed limits or important plan restrictions.

Sean wants Lumoo to build technology that people do not need to struggle to understand. Lumoo eSIM puts that belief into practice with clearer plan details and AI guidance that helps travelers spend less time comparing options.
